Brown
In the vast palette of colours found across the Indian landscape few have been as unacknowledged as brown. From the warmth of terracotta and teak to the deep richness of rosewood and Indian oak, brown’s spectrum of shades is vast. Earthily elegant, we find its lighter forms on sun-kissed coasts and it’s darker hues dramatically displayed in densely wooded forests. In man made structures its on full display in the majesty of forts or in the floors of modest houses and in the textures and tones of our work, brown is an unwavering presence no matter what the context. On display below are pictures of work and inspiration that depict the quiet presence of the colour. Being everywhere, yet almost invisible, brown’s power lies its ability to blend.
